MABALACAT, Pampanga --- The soon to be established "168" retail store here will make this town as the center of commercial activities in Pampanga.
“The three-story [shop] is expected to be a hub of activity for shopping where it is projected to attract vendors from both Northern and Central Luzon,” Mayor Marino Morales explained.
It will rise in a 2,000-hectare area in Barangay Mabiga which is adjacent to both North Luzon Expressway (NLEX) and Subic-Clark-Tarlac Expressway (SCTEX).
Morales is also confident that this new establishment is considered a way to attract foreign tourists as part of the town’s P500-million loan packaged projects sourced from the Development Bank of the Philippines (DBP) or the Land Bank of the Philippines (LBP).
Among the other development projects include a new bus terminal to be built near "168" to provide easy transportation access to people, a Triple A slaughterhouse, a five-story Mabalacat Public Market, lighting and beautification of the whole Mabalacat town and additional classrooms for public learning institutions.
“These projects, as part of the town’s aim to provide growth among its people and society, will make Mabalacat as the key economic player not only in this province but as well as in the whole country,” Morales concluded.
