TABUK, Kalinga - Access to production areas and transport of products to the market become easier for the people of Kalinga after the completion of 58 infrastructure projects being implemented by the Provincial Engineering Office (PEO) and funded by the 20% economic development fund (EDF) of the province.
This also includes the provision of social and health needs to the barangays with the delivery of various facilities to better public service for the people particularly water systems, drainage and school improvement.
As of April this year, Provincial Engineer Edwin Tubban reported his office has completed 58 projects while 68 are on-going
He said the selection of these projects was based from the priority project of the barangays and municipalities as reflected in their respective development plans. Before projects are funded, it must be certified a priority by the barangay and municipal development council, Tubban explained.
Getting the lion’s share from the EDF fund of P3 million each are the concrete paving of the National Irrigation Administration –Department of Education road; rehabilitation of Junction Pinukpuk-Pakawit road; and Allaguia-Asibanglan farm to market road.
