DOLE-ECC launches work accident report system

ILOILO CITY - DOLE-6 had recently launched a work accident report system for Western Visayas. A DOLE-6 press release said that this system dubbed ecUlat.me is part of the ECC’s Quick-Response Program which aims to know and immediately respond to reports on work-related accidents.

The launching for Region VI was done in Bacolod City, led by ECC Executive Director Stella Banawis and DOLE-6 Director Johnson G. Cañete.

“The ec-Ulat.me is not only intended to get reports on work-related accidents but to act accordingly on the reports,” Banawis said during the launching program.

“The reports are immediately validated by ECC Regional Offices for appropriate actions,” she added.

She also said that the system seeks to  increase awareness on work-related accidents as well as about the ECC.

“Through this the DOLE and the ECC will be able to get the real picture of accidents happening in the workplaces,” Banawis further said.

On the other hand, Cañete said that wages and other labor concerns are negotiable but not safety and health.

“We do not negotiate accidents or loss of life of our workers, hence, each of us is encouraged to report work-related accidents for appropriate actions,” Cañete said.  (JCM/ESS/PIA-Iloilo)
